テクニカル諏訪子 That's a monsterous huge ping!
I already knew Australia has terrible internet, though seeing the distance between server and Azareal, it might be understandable too on the other hand.

I always thought Australia was much closer by to Japan than 7170 km though.

Azareal I found an interesting tool for pinging a bunch of different locations.

There does seem to be a bit of packet loss, if I do a ping in cmd.exe to speed.076.ne.jp
The underwater cables do seem to take a bit of a winding path, although I'm not sure if that has much to do with it: https://www.submarinecablemap.com

テクニカル諏訪子 These are the results I got:
https://i.imgur.com/a0D6lgj.png

Looking at my results, my top 5 is:
1. Tokyo (Japan, Asia)
2. Osaka-Local (Japan, Asia)
3. Seoul (Korea, Asia)
4. Singapore (Singapore, Asia)
5. Beijing (China, Asia)

Which makes sense, considering I live only a 9 minute train ride away from the very first station in Tokyo (Kanemachi station in Adachi city to be more specific) I get to see if I do so.
And China's internet speeds are just terrible compared to the rest of east Asia and south east Asia.

In comparison, your top 5 according to the provided screenshot would be:
1. Sydney (Australia, Oceania)
2. Singapore (Singapore, Asia)
3. California (America, North America)
4. Oregon (America, North America)
5. AWS GovCloud (America, North America)

Which makes much less sense considering the distance between Australia and America (Hawaii excluded, since it's not available in the results any way).

So not sure how reliable this can be.
And looking at the submarine thing makes me bewildered by how complex my region looks like, and how simple yours is.

Azareal I'm not really sure what to make of these times either.

Telstra is apparently upgrading their network and more underwater cables seem to be under construction, so hopefully, that'll eliminate a bit of latency there.
It would be nice if they resolved their feud with Cloudflare too, unless a site has Argo enabled, Cloudflare has a tendency of routing requests up to somewhere in Asia and back down again, I'm not sure where exactly, but it's around 10 to 20ms faster than hitting Japan.

Telstra is practically a monopoly around here.
