I mean, this shoutbox thing is cool and all, but it feels laggy and limited. The window is tiny, which isn't very convenient for reading a bunch of conversation. Newer messages show on the top instead of the bottom, which is counter-intuitive. The 4-second delay after submitting a line is infuriating. Especially with the associated lag. Why not just use an IRC channel? IRC just works, it's simple and straightforward. You can probably embed a KiwiIRC client or something in a page, too. |

SGC Yellow | You can change the size of the ShoutBox, in case you didn't know. (The limit is 250). If you hide the ShoutBox, you can use it on it's own page, where it shows the whole conversation. |

MKGirlism | We had an IRC Channel before, but nobody cared, not even the person who wanted one. |

Oh, in that settings form in the footer. Not so intuitive. And why limit it to 250? What are the gripes against IRC, anyway? |

The limit is 250, so it doesn't fill the entire Forum on every single page. But as SGC already said, you can as well turn it off, and then a dedicated page for the ShoutBox will activate, where you can have it in full size. |

why should I hide the shoutbox to access the dedicated page? sounds like an arbitrary restriction. anyway, the shoutbox size isn't forum-wide, it only applies to me... my own choice if I want it to be 3077 pixels tall :P |
