ShadowLink | So far, I have a bunch of texture hacked tracks and characters, but I have no model swaps. I want to make a custom character, but I don't know what the model's format has to be in(.dae, .obj, .mdl0, .etc). Help is appreciated. |

Just like with any MK7 model, the format is .bcmdl. The main reason there are still no custom characters today, is because you need to add animations, you'll end up playing as a Kart, without a character controlling it. And the problem isn't that we don't know how to make the animations, the problem is, how are we supposed to know the animation names? |

What format are the animations in? I've hacked Brawl, Smash 4, Melee, MKWii, SM3D Land, and NSMB2 so I know a lot of formats that Nintendo uses. |

Animations are baked inside the .bcmdl files, that's the entire point. If it were separate files, we would have known the animation names 2 years ago... If you really want to know, here's a little list: ![]() |

ShadowLink | So, it's spread out in the model? Then the other custom karts are just the models. Ok, Thanks for the formats though. They look familiar. |
